28 Apr 2012
A new USCIS blog post provides additional information on the E-Verify program’s commitment to privacy. In the blog post, USCIS provides links to more information about what personal information E-Verify collects and how long that information is maintained. In addition, USCIS clarifies why E-Verify users cannot share login information.
According to USCIS, information collected by E-Verify can only be used for the employment eligibility component of the E-Verify program of for purposes that directly support the program (e.g., the prevention of misuse and fraud, program analysis, outreach efforts). The agency also implements a series of technical, operational and physical security controls to protect E-Verify information.
